Named for its strand of giant redwood cedars (one of Canada’s largest, in fact) this park sites on an 80-acre estate that once hosted famous pioneer brothers David and Peter Brown, who built a tree house in this very forest.

With a great hiking trail that’s about 5 kilometers long, Green Timbers is a great park for people who enjoy running, cycling, and hiking the extensive trails that run through the elegant forest, meadows, and wetlands. If you want an activity that’s low key, head to the Green Timbers Lake that’s full of rainbow trout. Be sure to look east while you’re out on the trails; Green Timbers boasts one of Surrey’s most stunning views of Mount Baker.
